This Crook and Staple Professional Contrabassoon Reed has a straight 'V' shaped tip. The contrabassoon reeds are made in the UK, held together with brass wires and yellow thread binding.

The contrabassoon reed is very responsive & produces clear articulation. It has a wide dynamic range & warm centered tone.

Second time purchase, still high quality, the tulip shape contra bassoon reed is good and hv a "richer" sound in lower notes playing, still hv a responsive tip. Thank you for making such hugh quality reeds

Spare the knife

Using a flat metal plaque can blunt your knife and also cause the reed to break because it is too flat. The convex ebony plaque solves both problems.

Have tried it a couple of times. Appears to do exactly what it claims - is very comfortable, easy to assemble and takes some of the strain off my thumb, hand and wrist, without getting in the way.

I was recommended these reeds and they haven’t disappointed. Lovely tone and great in the lower range. Looking forward to seeing how they progress and settle in.
